Sakuzaku solves difficult problems, and Community Internet came to us with a particularly sticky one. Community Internet’s clientele demand more than turn-key, out-of-the-box sites churned out by a page-mill firm in somebody’s basement. At the same time, Community Internet wanted to grow their business without expanding their staff and distancing themselves from clients with a beaurocracy of engineers and account managers — their brand of service required a personal relationship, something Community Internet was not willing to change. While these two competing goals seem largely incompatible, Sakuzaku’s solution was to build e-commerce platform capable of supporting hundreds of highly-customized online stores with minimum overhead associated with setup and ongoing maintenance, but extensible to the extreme in order to meet the idiosynratic and varying needs of individual clients. The finished system can be maintained by an extremely small staff, and enabled Community Internet to host many more sites than competitors without demands on their time for increasing numbers of clients growing in lockstep.
